AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Gerald Duncanson

29 avril 1934 – 5 juillet 2022
Avis de décès de Gerald Duncanson
AUX SOINS DE

Pixley Funeral Home

Gerald Duncanson of Rochester Hills, Michigan passed away on July 5, 2022. He was born in April 1934 to the late Robert M. and Emily S. Duncanson of Harbor Beach Michigan. He was 88 years old.

In 1954 he married our Mother Sharon L. Duncanson and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Mom passed away some years ago and Dad is now reunited with her.

He is survived by his sons Michael and David (Laurie) of Rochester Hills, Michigan, his Grandchildren Sara, Caitlin, Ian, Heather and Emily as well as his sister Barbara (the late Donald) Wismer, brother Alec (Sherry) Duncanson and numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Robert D. (Dorothy) Duncanson of Harbor Beach, Michigan.

Anyone who knew our Dad, from the many students that he taught at Anderson Junior High in Berkley, MI to his friends and family, knew that he was generous with his time, mechanical talents and sense of humor. Quick to volunteer, he never hesitated helping others when he could.

A major family tree buff (a large understatement), Dad spent many of his retirement years researching the family tree. He managed to trace the family lineage back to the 1600’s. In doing so he made many family connections and friends in Scotland, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

His mechanical skills were unparalleled. If there was something that needed fixing he always knew how to do it! We will always remember the times that he would show up to help with home repairs or some other project where we needed guidance. He was a kind and caring person and he will be deeply missed by all of us.

We were blessed to have had him as our father. He was always a solid and reliable provider for his family. He was a man of integrity, honesty and generosity.

We have many many fond memories of the cottages in northern Michigan that he built with his own hands. He was always ready to repair the snowmobiles and motorcycles that we managed to constantly break! That was his language of love - helping other people and helping us.

A memorial service will be held in the near future. Per his wishes he will be cremated and laid to rest with our Mom, who he missed very much.

Donations in his memory can be made to the Michigan Humane Society (https://www.michiganhumane.org/donatenow/?sl_tc=zotabox)
