Beloved husband of David Lowell; dear father of Joe and Ian Lowell; loving grandfather of Miles Lowell; caring brother of Henry (Kathleen) Phillips, John (JoAnne) Phillips, and Robert (Donna) Phillips. Greg was predeceased by his parents Henry and Gloria Phillips, and his sister Nancy Phillips.
Greg was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 18, 1954. He graduated from Servite High School and attended Wayne State University for Liberal Arts. Greg moved to Rochester where he lived with his partner David Lowell for many years. He and David married on March 22, 2014.
Greg was passionate about politics and staunch advocate for gay rights. He loved pottery, art, animals, being on the water, spending time up north and food. He was an amazing chef and loved to cook for his family and friends.
Greg’s family will receive visitors for a memorial gathering on Thursday November 8th, 2018 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and on Friday November 9th from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan.
