

Gene was born the son of Harry and Mildred (Culver) Shults in Detroit, Michigan on November 24, 1938. Gene served with the Marines and was stationed in Lebanon and Okinawa. After serving in the military, he married the love of his life Jacqueline Smithson and they were married on February 20, 1960 at St. Veronica Catholic Church. Gene had a career in automotive engineering. His friends called him “Mr. Mold" because of his talent and expertise. He was employed at Modern Engineering, Regal Engineering, and retired from TRW.
Gene loved traveling the United States with Jackie and his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He loved traveling the United States. He was the original “Foodie” and loved dining all over Michigan.
Gene is survived by his wife Jacqueline Shults; children Dorothy Shults, Robin (Carlo) Silveri, Kim (Michael) Crothers, Harry Shults, Melissa (Robert) Keys, and William Shults; grandchildren Anthony (Ashley) Shults, John (Britani) Talos, Andrew Silveri, Jacqueline Elizabeth (Carl) Parnell, Gabrielle (Mitchell) Yadlosky, Olivia Silveri, Harry Daniel Shults, Ryan Shults, Adriana Shults, Kimberly Shults, and Courtney Shults; great-grandchildren Johnny, Benny, Hannah, Joseph, Maverick ; and last his beloved his pugs Bart, Jack, and Mia.
