I just learned of Hank's passing. We were classmates in high school and for a time, in law school. We also worked on a few cases opposite each other as young lawyers. Although I hadn't seen Hank in quite a while, I remember him as a warm, friendly guy. Judging from the comments of others, I wasn't the only one left with that impression.

My belated condolences to his family.

Linda and family. We just recently found out about Hank’s passing, unfortunately after the service. How terribly saddened we are. Hank was my corporate attorney for about 15 years, and I remember not only his terrific legal work on our behalf but also the wonderful times we had on the golf course and over cocktails afterwards. His upbeat personality and sincere interest in his friends and clients made Hank such a special person in my book. I have always had the utmost respect for Hank both personally and professionally. Our most heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to Linda and family.

When Bob and I and our children moved to Rochester Hills in fall of 1982, we soon met the Mittelstaedts and other neighbors. And very soon we realized we'd moved into a wonderful neighborhood with friendly, congenial people, and that especially included Hank and Linda. Our youngest, Dan, was a kindergartner like Brian. The kids rode bikes, ate PBJ's at each other's houses, and swam together at Heart of the Hills. We babysat each other's dogs, even when we had an impossible new puppy and they had an older dog who needed shots in the belly for diabetes. Hank and Linda organized a celebration for me (Catherine) when I finished a graduate degree. Through the years, they've been great friends and we give thanks for the opportunity to have known Hank. I was lost after I worked at setting up the Meijers In Rochester. It was late and I have no sense of direction. I sat in my car not knowing which way to turn when I thought of Hank. He got me from Rochester to Farmington Hills all while talking and listening to the Tigers on the radio. He would not hang up until I was in my driveway. That was totally Hank. Bob andI will miss him.

Linda, Brian and Anne…we first met you in 1980 when we moved into University Hills. We treasure those family get togethers, camping trips, and numerous hours shared at the swim club over the years. You and Hank have a special place in our hearts. We mourn his loss and extend to you our deepest sympathies. Hank will always be missed but those cherished memories will live on in our hearts.
