James William McCreedy

James William McCreedy, age 82, of Rochester, passed away on September 3, 2025. He was born on August 20, 1943, in Detroit, to Lola (née Messer) and Leonard James "Jim" McCreedy. James married Judith Williams on October 26, 1991, in Sterling Heights. Beloved husband of Judith McCreedy. Proud uncle of Robert III (Jennifer) Terwilliger, Rachael (Cormac) O'Brien, Charles (Stephanie) Licata, Timothy (Jessie) Tucker, Ann (Joseph) Thompson, and Kelly (Eric) Czarnik, and great-uncle of 13. Cherished brother-in-law of Susan (Anthony) Licata and Rebecca (Randall) Tucker. James will be missed by numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Lola and Leonard McCreedy; and his sister, Pamela Terwilliger.

Jim graduated from Rochester High School in 1961 and from Michigan State University in 1965. He went on to briefly attend Detroit College of Law. He later became the owner of Modern Human Resources, a management consulting and outplacement services firm. After retiring from consulting, Jim devoted his time as a volunteer chaplain at the Oakland County Jail, served as a Gideon, and led a men’s Bible study at his church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:00am (In State 10:00am) at First Baptist Church of Rochester, 6377 Orion Road, Rochester Hills. Burial will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 2:00pm at Mount Avon Cemetery, Rochester
