Jim was born the son of James and Edith (Kramer) Scott on February 2, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Dearborn High School, class of 1959. Jim graduated from Ferris State University and served in the Army. He earned his master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Jim married Carol McLaughlin in 1965 and they raised their family in Rochester. Jim had a successful career at Ford Motor Company retiring from graphics design in 1997.
Jim was a car guy who loved his wife, son, and granddaughter dearly. In younger years, he enjoyed biking around the city connecting with neighbors.
Jim is survived by his beloved caretaker and wife Carol Scott; son Jeffrey Scott; granddaughter Mackenzie (Jace Schuler) Scott; brother Jerry Scott; and brother-in-law Harvey (Janice) MacLaughlin. Jim was predeceased by his parents.
Jim’s family will hold a celebration of life at a later date to be listed on this memorial site.
