James Lloyd Shelly July 23, 1935 – June 10, 2017, Rochester Hills. Born the son of John D. and Willie Shelly in Memphis, TN, Jim excelled as an athlete at Dyersburg High School. He later graduated from Wayne State University and worked many years in the lab at Pontiac General Hospital. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and took pride in his NRA membership. Jim is survived by good friend and former wife Gwendolyn (Rathka) Shelly; son Todd (Lynette), daughter Cara; grandchildren Nathan and Miranda; and numerous relatives in Tennessee including sister Evelyn Vadine Jetton and Nephew J. Kent (Kimberly) Jetton. The service will be private at Jim’s request. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice.
