Janice Butler

Janice D. Butler, born September 13, 1931, passed away March 30, 2023 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Francis X. Butler, Jr. Survived by children Francis X. (Annette), Stephen J. (Catherine), Laura A. Plagens, Mark A. (Elizabeth), Erin C. Holcomb (Dennis) and Patrick N. (Kathryn), grandchildren Kerry, Bridget, Allison, John, Matthew, Kevin, Andrew, (late) Brandon, Daniel, Emma, Claire, Susan, Charles and Grace as well as nine great-grandchildren.

Also, survived by her brother Robert Lettieri of Rochester Hills.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Janice married Francis X. on September 13,1953. After living in Lynbrook, NY for 25 years Janice and her family settled in Rochester Hills in 1978. Janice, an avid reader, participated in several book clubs. She loved to travel with her children and grandchildren exploring various cities and countries. She also enjoyed spending time at ocean front beaches with her family.

Janice also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and having an exquisite sense of style, interior decorating and quilting. Her quilts are prized by family and friends for their color, patterns and artistry.

Her home was always open with a cup of tea awaiting the visitor.

Her greatest passion was for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, keenly interested in their progress and achievements she never failed to inquire of the well-being of all.

A visitation for Janice will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307. Her service will occur Monday, April 3, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Van Hoosen Jones - Stoney Creek Cemetery, 482 E Tienken Rd, Rochester Hills, MI 48306.
