Janice C. Schroeder passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving children. She was born on December 14, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to Bryce and Mary (Dombe) Martin. Janice graduated from Clovis High School in 1957 before returning to her hometown of Chicago, where she later met and married the love of her life, John Schroeder, in 1961. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three cherished children, Carole (Ray) Turk, Kristen Schroeder, and John Andrew Schroeder, who survive her.
Janice is also survived by her beloved sister, Suzanne Martin; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Moran; and her great-grandson, Harrison Waltz, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Janice was immensely proud of her 15-year career at the University of Notre Dame, where she worked in the athletics business office. Her time at Notre Dame fostered a deep and lifelong passion for Fighting Irish football. She attended every home game with enthusiasm, often inviting neighbors to share in the experience. Her home was a true reflection of her love for the team, proudly adorned with cherished Notre Dame memorabilia.
A celebration of Janice's life will be held at a later date.
Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
