Jason Ryan Nelson

Nelson, Jason Ryan, 39, of Rochester Hills, passed away February 5, 2017. He was born December 29, 1977 and graduated from Lutheran High Northwest in 1996. In February of 2014, he married his soulmate, Darcie Kayes. When they were married Darcie was dealing with breast cancer, a battle they knew they would have to fight, but they would fight it together, with their love. Darcie passed away in September of 2016. Jason also gained a daughter Alexandra when he married Darcie. Jason loved being a Dad. Jason had a passion for sports, and loved rooting against teams his Dad rooted for. The biggest one being basketball, and John Starks and the New York Knicks. His dog Marshall was his constant companion and a love of his life. Marshall never left his side, and loved going to work with Jason. Jason loved the family camping vacation in Ludington State park, where there were a lot of memories and friends. Jason also loved playing video games and hanging out with his nephew Jacob Konen. Jason is predeceased by his wife, Darcie and survived by his mother and father, Glen and Diane Nelson, his sister, Tyler (Chris) Staller and his step-daughter, Alexandra. A celebration service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2225 E. 14 Mile RD, Birmingham MI. The church will open at 10:00 AM for visiting, service at 11:00 with a luncheon following the service.
