KOGER, Joe Milton, age 80, of Rochester Hills, died March 5, 2018 at his residence. Joe was born on September 3, 1937 in Monticello, KY, son of the late Robert and Nannie (Sexton) Koger. He graduated from Millikin University in 1959 with a B.S. Degree in Engineering Administration, passed on offers to pitch baseball professionally and went to work for General Motors in Danville, IL. He advanced to the unclassified executive level with the Central Foundry Division, retiring in 1988 at the age of 50. Joe was very athletic, lettering in 4 sports while at Millikin University. In 1975 he was inducted into the Millikin University Athletic Hall of Fame, and in 2015 he was inducted into the Warrensburg-Latham High School Wall of Fame. He was an avid golfer, shooting his age all through his 70’s. He was very active at the OPC Senior Center in Rochester, Michigan and actively supported the Oakland County Republican Party. His wit and humor will be missed by most. On March 5, 1960 he married the love of his life, Nancy Jane Nottelmann, who preceded him in death in 2012. Joe is survived by: his sons, Joe (Dawn) Koger II of Birmingham, and Kerry Koger of Ortonville; grandchildren Makenna, Jaret, Hadley, Claire, and Brent; brother Ray Koger, sisters Linda Koger and Lois Finney, and sisters-in-law Joyce Koger, Connie Koger, Hazel Nottelmann and Janet (Erik) Stottrup. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery Chapel, 570 E. Tienken Road, Rochester Hills. Mr. Joseph Patrico Officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester.
