Joy Terrado Espedido passed away on Sunday December 14, 2025 at the age of 48. Joy was born the daughter of Remegio and Milagros Terrado on December 5, 1977 in Lingayen, Philippines. She attended Lyceum-Northwestern University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1998. There, she met the love of her life, Mitchell Espedido, and the two were wed for 26 years. During their loving marriage, they brought into the world three children: Micaela, Mia, and Mark Espedido. In 2005, they immigrated to the United States for a better future for their children.
True to her name, Joy was always cheerful, never letting the woes of life bring her down. She saw the good in every situation. In her free time, Joy loved singing, walking in her neighborhood backyard, listening to audiobooks, meditating and praying. Joy was a “super nurse” at Beaumont Troy and Henry Ford Rochester. Her friends loved her for her compassion and empathy, qualities that served her admirably as a devoted healthcare professional.
As a mother Joy always wanted a bright future for her children. Her greatest mission in life was to be a loving, caring, and supportive mother. She always made sure her children had more than enough to succeed in life. Joy also taught the importance of humility and kindness to her children and prayed for their health. Joy always highlighted the importance of family and never fell behind to reach out to family even in the Philippines. She is dearly loved by her parents and her siblings, whom survive her; Marilou, Rolando, Janet, and Mildred. She would often call them despite the time difference.
Visitation hours have been arranged for Sunday, January 4th from 1:00 - 8:00 PM at the Pixley Funeral Home of Rochester (322 W. University Dr., Rochester).
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 5th, at St. Mary of the Hills Church (2675 John R. Rd., Rochester Hills). The Espedido family will greet guests from 10:00 AM at the church.

Interment will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery, Oakland Township.
The immediate family of Joy would like to extend their gratitude for keeping Joy and the entire Espedido family in your thoughts and prayers.
