Joyce Louise Kendall (Williams) went to her Heavenly Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on 16 April 2026. Joyce was born on 30 December 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa to Perry and Leona Williams; she was the oldest of four children, but her brother, John, passed away at 11 years old; one of her sisters, Garnette, passed away at 6 months; and her other sister, Beverly passed away at 72 years old.
Joyce grew up in Goshen, Indiana where she married Ralph Kendall on 28 July 1951. By the time Joyce was 23 years old, she had given birth to three boys and one girl—David Lee, Douglas Lynn, Kim Allen, and their “baby sister”, Tamela Sue.
“Grandma” Joyce’s life was always centered around her children and later, her grandchildren. She loved them all dearly during her 92-year journey on this earth, and along with her four children, God blessed her with 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Grandma Joyce was not rich in this world, but she stored up her treasures in Heaven as she raised her children to know and love Jesus like she did; and they have all endeavored to pass the faith onto their families. During the last 13 years of her life, she loved living with her son, Kim Allen and his wife, Cheryl.
Grandma Joyce was a godly mother who also loved her Church family at Orchard Ridge Church of the Nazarene. They will miss her but know that she is really living and loving life even more now than she ever has. Grandma Joyce was reunited in Heaven with her mother and father, her siblings, and her oldest son, David, who went to be with Jesus 10 years ago. As it says in Psalms 116:15, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” She would want us all to have joy and celebrate with her now that she’s living the “Real, Everlasting Life” now.
