Marie Evan Brown (King), 97, of Rochester, passed away February 20, 2017.Dearest mother of Richard (Patti) Brown, Robert (Charlene) Brown, and Nancy Zenas. Loving grandmother of Kirk, Craig, Erik, Jill, Jaime, and Christopher. Cherished great-grandmother of ten. Caring sister-in-law to JoAnn and sister to John King Jr. Beloved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Jack Brown and parents John and Regina (Jacobs) King. Marie was born on September 27, 1919 in Balgonie, Saskatchewan, Canada. After moving to Detroit, she graduated from Detroit Southeastern High School. Marie married Jack DeForest Brown on August 6, 1940 and shared 71 years with her husband raising her family and managing the home. Marie loved her family and shared her delicious cooking. She enjoyed traveling, and playing golf, basketball, and especially bridge. Memorial gathering Sunday 12-2pm with Service at 2pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester.
