He was born in Detroit, MI on May 31, 1959.
Marty attended Saint Francis De Sales in north west Detroit, graduated from Birmingham Seaholm and went to Western Michigan University.
Marty was a born entertainer. He was bitten by the acting bug at a young age, being cast at age 7 in Southfield Lathrup High School’s production of Li’l Abner, which our dad directed. In high school Marty played the cowardly lion in Seaholm’s production of The Wiz. He got a summer scholarship to Cranbrook Theater, where he starred in Henry Aldridge. His acting continued into college where he was cast in a number of plays, one being another leading role. Marty was a regular contributor to our annual Longe Family Reunion show as well. Marty always loved to make people laugh and to tell stories.
Marty always had a concern for others. This was evident by his work at Mercy Bell Brook (an assisted living community) and the never ending help he provided his neighbors in Flint, Michigan.
His effervescent personality will be missed by his family and all of those that knew him.
He was predeceased by his father Robert C Longe,
