Marvin Lyle Siewert

Marvin L. Siewert, age 90, of Bear Lake, Michigan, was born January 25, 1935, and passed away January 11, 2026. Beloved husband of Eleanor Siewert for 72 years. Loving father of Cheryl (John) Mack and Mark (Becky) Siewert. Cherished grandfather of James Mack, Laura (Eric) Hersland, Sarah (Dylan) Whitcher, and Leah (Brad) DeVries. Treasured great-grandfather of Natalie Hersland, Alex Hersland, and Luna DeVries. Marvin was preceded in passing by his parents, Adolf and Freda Siewert and by his siblings, Kenneth, Edward, Walter, Howard, and Donna.

Marvin proudly worked for 30 years at General Motors’ Pontiac Division in Pontiac, Michigan. After retiring, he and his wife, Eleanor, built a business creating porcelain dolls, ornaments, and other handmade items. Together, they traveled to shows throughout Michigan, sharing their work and connecting with people from across the country. In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed bowling and faithfully served as caretaker for his church, Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Rochester Hills.

Marvin and Eleanor later fulfilled their dream of living in northern Michigan, where they found a peaceful home in the woods. There, Marvin spent his time enjoying lifelong interests such as camping, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, and gardening. He continued his devotion to his faith by serving for many years as caretaker and elder at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Benzonia, Michigan.

The family of Marvin L. Siewert extends their heartfelt gratitude for all the thoughts and prayers.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester. Burial at Christian Memorial Gardens West, Rochester Hills.
