Mary DuBois passed into the loving arms of God on February 28, 2026. She is preceded in death by parents Glenn and Gladys Bradford, and siblings Maxine Eickmeier, Glenn (Jim) Bradford, and great grandson Michael Pegg. Survived by sons Jeff (Susie) and John (Suzanne), grandchildren Jamie, Lindsay, Sarah and Aimee, great grandchildren Savannah, Harper, Roman and Olivia and very special friend Tina Oxley.
In 1976, after Jeff and John were raised, she began her teaching career. After a year in the Almont school district, she began a 35-year tenure in the Rochester school district teaching English, Literature and Drama. Mary taught at West Junior High and Adams High School. She often said the highlight of her career was hosting students on the exchange program from Russia. Her biggest thrill was taking her exchange students to Russia. She was a very adventurous soul.
After retiring, Mary accepted the position of Supervisor of Intern Teachers at Oakland University where she worked to the age of 75. She also served as an Officer on the Board of Oakland Town Hall, recruiting lecturers and authorities to speak on a wide variety of topics.
She moved to Waltonwood Senior Living in 2017, where she spent her remaining years making many friends, leading Bible studies and book clubs, and taking everyone’s money at Bingo. Mary was a beautiful, beautiful soul. You knew that the minute you met her. Her smile showed you just how big her heart really was.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday May 16, 2026 from 10am until the time of the memorial service at noon at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan.
