Mary (known as Kitty) was born in Detroit on December 30, 1936. When she was one year old, her family, along with her two older brothers Edward A Jr and Woods moved to Bloomfield Township on the shores of Wing Lake. There they attended all six grades at the Wing Lake school house on Wing Lake Road and Maple. They would all agree that it was the best childhood any family could have enjoyed, to be raised in the community of Wing Lake.
After attending Bloomfield Hills Schools, Kitty graduated from the National Cathedral School for girls in Washington DC in 1955. From there she attended Bradford Jr College in Haverhill, Mass. She was a member of Tau Beta, the Junior League of Birmingham, and the Colonial Dames of SE Michigan.
Kitty is survived by daughters: Elizabeth (Lisa) Edelstein of Rochester, Sarah (Paul) Sauers of Ann Arbor, Mary Thomas of Troy, and Lynda (Michael) Nelson of Rochester Hills; fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her brother Edward A Proctor, Jr.
Kitty’s family will receive visitors for a memorial gathering on Friday March 16, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Kensington Church located at 1825 E. Square Lake Road in Troy Michigan with a memorial gathering from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
