She was born in Philadelphia on October 1, 1944, and grew up In Philly and New Jersey.
She graduated from Collingswood High School in New Jersey, where she met her husband, Stan Zombek. They were married on September 23, 1967. She would say that her 50+ years of marriage was one of her greatest blessings and achievements.
Melanie managed many business offices and raised two daughters. Through the years she volunteered for organizations such as the Meadowbrook Guild, Crittenton Hospital, the Rochester Library, and Assistance League of Southeast Michigan.
Melanie enjoyed various women’s clubs, cooking, gardening, traveling, going to the shore and being with her family and dear friends.
She is survived by husband Stan Zombek, her daughters Meredith Lovell and Stacie Glime, Her sons-in-law Alex Lovell and Andy Glime, Her grandchildren Kate, Hadley and Jack Lovell and Brady and Tyler Glime, and an amazing group of supportive friends.
Memorial service will be held 10 am, Friday, June 8, 2018, at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, 771 Old Perch Road, Rochester Hills. Fr. Brian Chabala officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am to 10 am at the church. Following the service the family will host a luncheon at Great Oaks Country Club, 777 Great Oaks Boulevard, Rochester.
