I met Mike when he and his family built a large home and moved to Niles. I gave him the nickname "Stilts" because of his long skinny legs. He said he was happy about that because his former classmates had called him 'Bird'...'Stilts' was definitely cooler! He was smart and easy to get along with and an excellent student. He and his younger brother treated me to many snowmobile rides and many dinners with his family. RIP, Mike!!!

It saddens me so much to hear of Mike's passing. I haven't seen him since high school, but I have such fond memories of "Stiltsy" from those years. He was a wonderful friend who had an infectious laugh. Rest easy, my friend.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Michael.  We met at MSU (5th floor Wonders Hall) and remained friends ever since. Mike was a great athlete. He was briefly a high jumper on the MSU track team and walked around wearing very impressive varsity track uniform including a snazzy jersey and matching sweat pants.  I think he quickly realized the time commitment and decided wisely to focus on his studies and other pursuits.  He was an excellent basketball player. Post graduation I recruited Mike to play in a basketball league which he played in for several years.  He was the “ringer” and the best player in the league.  He was also very handy with tools. He had the most elaborate custom dorm room build-out.  When I bought my first house, he helped me set up and install my basketball pole, backboard, rim, and net.  My job was to hand him the tools.  Mike was very gracious with his time. To help me avoid speeding tickets, he hooked up a fuzz buster in my car, which at the time was not exactly street legal.  Michael was one of the sharpest dressers I have ever known.  Michael sponsored my membership to Baron’s, an exclusive members only wholesale men’s clothier not open to the public. At the time, Michael was partial to Hickey Freeman suits although his tastes broadened over the years.  Michael had a very successful professional career at Federal Mogul. Michael was pretty much as far up the ladder you could go without being CEO.  He was executive senior vice president of Federal Mogul’s largest division.  I was always rooting for his success.  We occasionally met for lunch over the years.  He invited me on occasion to Federal Mogul for lunch.  I could see that he had the respect and admiration of everyone in the building.  He was very modest and gracious to everyone, and had a great sense of humor.  Michael would update me and was very proud of his family and the accomplishments of Jody and Alex.  He’ll be missed.  May his memory be a blessing!

Jody, you and Alex are in our constant thoughts as you navigate this difficult time.  Mike will always be remembered for his sense of humor, remarkable life and his great taste for great wine!  We are so grateful that you brought him into our lives so many years ago.  He was a blessing.  Love and hugs to both of you, Bruce and Net

I had the pleasure of having Mike for a boss at Cooper Standard and was so very sorry to hear of his passing. Mike was a class act who always treated others with kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with his family who he loved so dearly. May you be comforted by your memories and may he rest in peace.

Our hearts are heavy for your loss. Mike was such a great man. We will remember him with so much love. I think  our fun times and him trying to teach Scott and I  that you must never drink bad wine! First time I ever drank wine from a decanter was from his personal wine collection. He will always be Big Bubba to our "little bubba" Alex :) 
Our family was blessed to know him as a friend.

Jody and Alex,  I'm sorry to hear about Mike, but your family is in my prayers.  I have many memories of Mike and the old Federal-Mogul  gang from years ago.  He was always very kind and I enjoyed working with him.    I'm sure he will be missed by many.  Take care
