

Born in Wadsworth, Ohio on November 19, 1933, Nancy was the daughter of Charles and Martha Curtis. She graduated from DePauw University, where she met her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck” Stocking. They shared many joyful years together before his passing.
Nancy had a sharp eye for beauty and was an avid amateur photographer, earning awards for her work. A longtime supporter of the arts, she was a dedicated member of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra Guild and cherished her time with the symphony community. After Chuck's passing, Nancy and her sister Liz—her close companion in both life and travel—explored the world together. Nancy also had a deep love for animals and nature, which remained a constant joy throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, and her sister, Elizabeth Cohn.
Nancy is survived by her nephews David Curtis and Robert (Tana) Curtis, her nieces Sue (Jamie) Colbourne and Jan (Jack) O’Connell, along with many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Great Oaks Country Club, 777 Great Oaks Blvd., Rochester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to the Michigan Animal Rescue League, 790 Featherstone, Pontiac, MI 48432.
