

Olga Amelia Anderson, age 94, dearest mother, friend and teacher, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2015 in her Rochester Hills home. Olga was born in Highland Park, MI on July 25, 1921. She moved to Clawson, MI in 1950 where she raised her family with her husband Alphonse. In 1961 she began her career teaching at Kenwood Elementary School in Clawson. She claimed teaching was the best part of her life. She said she felt so very fortunate to have been able to teach because she truly loved working with children. In her free time Olga also enjoyed sewing clothes, and painting, particularly flowers. She was always busy. Olga is survived by her daughter Karen Anderson of Troy, MI, her son Alphonse G. Anderson (Linda) of Owosso, MI, and her grandchildren Audrey Hughes (Paul Parkanzky) of Ann Arbor, MI, Alphonse G. Anderson III (Mo Li) of Houston, TX, Erik Anderson of Traverse City, MI, John Hughes of Detroit, MI, and Laura Anderson of Owosso, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband Alphonse G. Anderson, sister Elsie Woodring (Raymond), brother Alfred Ritz (Anna), mother Ferdinanda Ritz (Scheller), and father August Ritz.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 @ 12:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 1011 W. University Drive, Rochester, Michigan
