Penelope Jane Macomber

Penelope “Penny” Jane Macomber, age 69, of Rochester Hills, died August 31, 2016 at Crittenton Hospital. Penny was born on May 31, 1947 in Rochester, daughter of the late William and Mary Burke. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1965 graduated from Adrian college with a Bachelors Degree. Penny was a private tutor for children with learning challenges. She also owned and operated Penelope’s Principles, a personal and professional image consulting firm. She enjoyed reading and had a deep passion for fashion. In her spare time, she enjoyed participating in Bible Study and was involved in many church activities. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Penny is survived by her daughters Melisa (Benjamin) Piper and Amanda Macomber; grandchildren Gabriella Piper, Alyssa Macomber, Austin Glowacki and Alexis Graves; 3 sisters, Mary (Arthur) Carlson, Susan Little, and Martha Hillary (Jack) Ramirez. She was also survived by many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Burke. Penny was loved by all of her family and friends and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held 11 am Friday, September 9, 2016, at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester. Rev. Dwayne Kelsey officiating. The family will receive friends Friday at 10 am. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the Leukemia Foundation.
