Hi mom,  I really just miss you soo much! These past few months have been so hard for me as a mom, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted your advice. The memories that I have of Penny are priceless to say the least...Penny you taught some of the most important things in raising children....I will never forget the phrase "never say never" you coined the name Baby James and I never forgot that...every time I thought of that I thought of you....And who could forget the time Sherrie and I made you golf in 90 degrees..heehee or boblo island...90 degrees...so many fond memories I will never forget you my friend. To one of the funniest and warm ladies I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and knowing. Every time I think of you I will smile...you brought light into everyone's life.  You and Gary were beautiful together.

I have many happy childhood memories with my cousin Penny.  We spent part of every summer together as well as getting together whenever we could the rest of the year for birthdays etc. Penny was adventurous, lovable and extremely hilarious.  Crossing the Detroit River to visit my American cousin was always a very exciting time. Penny was a rare gem and I will never forget her or the wonderful times we had. She was a beautiful part of my childhood.

Sometimes God sends us very special people and Penny was one of them.I was blessed to have Penny as a special and dear friend for over 43 years.I will miss you and love you forever.

You came into my life when I was just 7. I have some wonderful memories of all the fun stuff I was able to experience with you and Gary. The week I would spend with you in the summers when I was a kid. My very first trip to Florida and Disney when I was in High School, so much fun. I watched you have your 3 kids and then you watched me have mine. I remember all the fun times that Graham and I had with you and Gary, the time you came to our house and called out Bocky Woman, Bocky Woman, come out, on a loud speaker from your car. You were my role model for years. Thank you for those memories, thank you for loving my big brother so much. I know you are looking down on all of us from Heaven. I Love you Penny!!!

I don't really know what to say about my sister. There is so much. How funny she was...my own Bette Midler. Throughout this whole ordeal, she refused to be anything but positive. Even toward the end of her life as it is known here on earth, she would give me that glance-the old eyeball roll-the one that said I was right on or what the hell are you talking about? 
When we were kids, she teased me relentlessly. Often the only thing you could hear out of our house was "Peennyy"!!
She washed the dishes too fast (no such thing as a dishwasher then) so I couldn't keep up with the drying. Peennyy!! She suckered me to go into Dougie Dean's flooded backyard and said she would never tell mom or dad. Right…My sister told the minute we got home. Razor strap on my bare bum. Peennyy!! She knew every button to push and she did it excellently.
Eventually, I caught on and understood that Penny was an outstanding , loving, kind, and caring individual. Penny was just Penny. MY SISTER and NO ONE can ever take her away from me. She is always with me. She is my “gentle presence” and my “divine love”.

I'm blessed to have had you in my life. You will always have a special place in my heart . Thank you for all the memory's Ill never forget . I love you and miss you.

I was so blessed to have had Penny in my life and I am also blessed to have all the memories. One of my favorite memories was when I caught my Mama (Sherry) spying on me at McDonalds when I was in high school and there was Penny right next to her hiding in the parking lot. They looked like they were having fun. I love you Penny and will miss you very much.

Friends are those rare people who ask how we are and then wait to hear the answer. And that would be you Penny. Miles apart for so many years and yet when we would meet up it was like we had just had a conversation the day before.  We will miss those times with you and Gary as each July 3rd we would so look forward to our time together.  We started out as young couples with small kids and here we are, just a little older and wiser and our friendship never changed.  Penny, you made us laugh all the time and your stories you were so good at telling will never be forgotten. You will be missed each and every day and never, ever forgotten.  Love you Penny.

Some people will always be remembered for their ability to make others feel good, to to put them at ease and to make them laugh. Penny was such a person. One who was always ready to help someone else and,in so doing, made their lives a little better and a little brighter.  Her passing makes us think of our loss, but we're thankful that we knew her. She will be sadly missed, but she has left this world a better place.

And a reminder that life is supposed to be fun, even when its supposed to hurt. She spread  joy and she lifted everyone up. She was a ray of existential sunshine in our too ordinary lives. She knew how to live and laugh. And reminded us all we are obliged to do both...with friends, strangers, and all those we love the most. Thank you Penny. You've made us all better. And will continue to do so whenever we think of our time together. God is fortunate to have you on His team. You're probably the new official greeter.
