

Ray Carlyle August, age 90, of Rochester Hills, passed away peacefully at his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Ray was born in Cumberland, Wisconsin to the late Julia Louise Haugh and Ernest Herman Augst. Ray graduated with the following degrees: Cumberland High School in 1949, Bachelor of Sacred Literature from Minnesota Bible College in 1960, MBA from Indiana Northern University in 1972. Ray also served in the Army National Guard of Minnesota from 1957 – 1960.
Ray worked as a plant manager in the steel and automotive industries, and after retiring, went on to work at Meijer for 26 more years. Ray also recently won medals from The Senior Olympics held in 2021.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Mary August, whom he married on May 18, 1957, they were married for 53 years. Ray was a loving and devoted husband and father who enjoyed family, adored all of the grandkids, and had a passion for serving Christ.
Ray is survived by his three children who miss him, and know they will see him again in Heaven. Loving father of David (Dianne), Mark (Nichole), Timothy (Amy), and Mokie the cat. Grandfather of Alissa, Jennifer, Danielle, Mark Jr., Catherine and Mary. Great grandfather of Luca and Shyann.
A memorial service will be held at The River Church, 255 S. Squirrel Rd, Auburn Hills, Michigan. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. The memorial service starts at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow.
