

KINGSTON, Richard Thomas, 66, of Rochester Hills, passed away December 14, 2017. He was born in Detroit, MI on June 11, 1951. Richard Kingston graduated from Grosse Pointe High and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University. He was married to Peggy (Smyk) Kingston on May 28, 1977. Richard had a career in facilities for T.I. Automotive (Bundy Tubing). He volunteered for Kensington Church, OPC, and Leader Dogs for the Blind. Richard had a passion for Rock & Roll, playing the drums, his Jeep Wrangler, and his Boxer Bronx. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children, Patrick (Lindsey) and Shannon Kingston; his siblings, Kathleen (Robert) Ottoy and Patricia Finn; mother-in-law, Stephanie Smyk; sister-in-laws, Sharon Lisak and Mary (John) Malewicz; brother-in-law, Wally (Lisa) Smyk; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 2-8 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11 AM with gathering beginning at 10 AM at Pixley Funeral Home. Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind, Philanthropy Department, P.O. Box 5000, Rochester, MI, 48308-5000.
