Richard Latka, 87 of Rochester Hills passed away Tuesday, September 20th 2016. He was born on May 20th, 1929 in Detroit, MI where he raised his family and proudly served the community as a Detroit Firefighter for 33 years. He retired as a Fire Captain in 1986. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Latka (Simard) along with his three children Robert (Rene) Latka; Gregory (Rebecca) Latka; and Cathy (Charles) Kimble. He was a loving grandfather of five and great-grandfather of four, Kimberly (Jason) Grosso and their children Sydney, Grace and Jackson; Derek (Blair) Latka; Christina (Patrick) Hartsig; Lindsay (Ian) Serre and their son Mason; and Alyssa Kimble. Richard is preceded in death by his brother, George Latka and sister, Delphine Latka. A memorial service is planned for 11 am Saturday, October 29th 2016 at St. Mary of the Hills.
