Robert Nicholas Covins

Robert ‘Bob’ Nicholas Covins ,80, of Rochester Hills, passed away June 9, 2017. Beloved husband of Carol Covins for 57 years; Dear father of Robert (Deborah) Covins, Kenneth Covins, Gerette (Mathew) Ignash, and Cynthia (Anthony) Barger; Cherished grandfather of Callie, Carisa, Leanne, Allie, Danielle, Taylor, Michael, Nicholas, and Bella; Caring great-grandfather to Emma; Brother to Carol, Margaret, and Eva. Bob was born the son of Peter and Eva Kowencz on June 17, 1936. He graduated from Denby High School and married Carol Kachman on June 27, 1959 in Detroit. Bob raised his family with Carol in Warren and moved to Rochester Hills in 1977. Bob was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. He liked traveling, attending his grandchildren's sports events, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed doing puzzles, crosswords and trips to Home Depot. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday June 14th at 12:00pm until the time of memorial mass at 12:30pm at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood Ave in Rochester. A luncheon will follow at Pixley Funeral home in Rochester. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bob’s honor to the Rose Cancer Center at Beaumont Hospital (www.beaumont.org/giving).
