Robert John "Bob" Fifield

FIFIELD, Robert John “Bob”, age 78 of Shelby Township, passed away August 18, 2018. He was born in Cass City, Michigan on March 8, 1940, son of the late Alfred,Sr., and Dorothy Fifield. Bob was a graduate of Rochester High School and received his degree in engineering from Lawrence Tech University. He married Joanne Louise Thompson on February 14, 1959. Bob was an Engineer and had worked for National Twist Drill, NA Woodworth, Ford Motor Co., and General Motors. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America, the Elks Club and numerous car clubs. Bob’s passions included classic cars, Tiger’s baseball, woodworking and most importantly, his family. Bob is survived by his wife Joanne; son Steven M. (Jill) Fifield and daughter Tamela (Mark) Schwarzkoff; grandchildren Steven Fifield, Stacie (Joe) Fillo, Mackenzie (Jeremy) Barber, Shelby (Drew) Schwarzkoff and Alexis Fifield; great grandchildren Abby Fifield, Gracie Fillo, Mikayla Fifield, Eva Fillo, Leah Fifield and soon-to-be Nolan Barber. Also survived by his siblings Alfred (Sharon) Fifield, Jr., Jim (Sharon) Fifield, the late Leleand (Sue) Fifield, the late Richard (Carolyn) Fifield and Donnald (Mary) Fifield. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 620 Romeo Street in Rochester. Bob will lie in state at 10 a.m. at the church. The family will also receive friends Friday, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester.
