Roger Gary

Roger Gary, age 84, of Rochester Hills, Michigan passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024. He was born in Detroit, MI on February 6, 1940 to Lawrence and Louise Gary. Roger attended Rochester High School before continuing on to honorably service his country for two years in the United States Navy.

He married his beloved wife Delores "Lolly" on April 7, 1962 and together they shared their life until his passing. Roger was a man who felt great pride in being of service to his community. Starting out as an Aluminum Siding Installer, he became a Volunteer Firefighter for Rochester and Rochester Hills and then the District Chief for Station 5 of Rochester Hills. Even after leaving his position with the fire department, he still cared for his station by ensuring they had the needed supplies as a Fire Equipment Salesman.

In Roger's free time he enjoyed collecting Firefighter memorabilia, watching the Redwings, and scouring the internet looking for the best deals. When there was time to travel, he and Lolly would go to Las Vegas to try their chances gambling at the casino.

Roger is survived by his wife Delores "Lolly"; children Todd Gary and Michele (Keith) Kaufmann; grandchildren Melanie (Devin) Gary-Davis and Jessica (Dan) Gary; and great grandchildren Elizabeth, Eleanor, Ryleigh.

A memorial visitation for Roger will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan 48307 with a memorial service at 4:00 PM.
