Rosanna was born on July 17, 1970, to her parents Rogelio R. Nacorda and Perla M. Nacorda. She and her sister Maria Rouella grew up in Manila, Philippines. She attended Arellano University in Manila and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1991. After graduating, she moved to Detroit, Michigan by herself in search of a better life. It was in Detroit she met the love of her life and future husband Jairus Botardo and the two were wed Jan 30, 1997. Together they built their family and brought into the world their three beloved sons. Jacob Botardo, born July 22, 2001, who is a Marine corps veteran and now at school in Oakland university, Jonah Botardo, born November 29, 2003, a senior at Oakland university majoring in cyber security, and Joel Botardo August 18, 2006, who is now a sophomore with a baseball scholarship at Kalamazoo Valley. Rosanna was called to help those most in need, and nurse she helped support and heal those who were at their most vulnerable. For 29 years built a successful career at Beaumont Hospital, McLaren Hospital and Henry Ford Hospital, loving both the work and the people she worked with.
Rosanna was a woman of faith attending Woodside Bible church for 20 years. She lived what she believed and volunteered for many different jobs within the church. She especially enjoyed volunteering as a children’s counselor for her kids. One of the greatest testaments to her generous spirt was volunteering to go to Florida with Woodside in 2024 to help with hurricane relief even while diagnosed with cancer. She found comfort and community in the fellowship of her Woodside bible study prayer group.
Despite her busy schedule as a nurse, mom, and prolific volunteer, Rosanna did still find some time to unwind. She loved to travel and journaled often. Rosanna was a die-hard Detroit Tigers fan and loved watching baseball with her husband and sons. Her other favorite teams were the ones her sons played on, both baseball and basketball. She was a frequent attendee at their games and their biggest fan. Rosanna enjoyed catching up with friends and family at coffee shops. At home, Rosanna would spend time with the family dogs Yogi, Reggie and Bo. Rosanna had a green thumb and loved to garden in her back yard, planting many flowers, vegetables and fruits. She and Jairus would go on long walks together, finding comfort and peace with one another.
She is survived by her husband Jairus Botardo; sons Jacob, Jonah, Joel Botardo; sister Maria Rouella Lagunzad; nieces Elise Lagunzad, Ellen Lagunzad, and Sarah Perkins; nephews Gabriel Lagunzad and Anthony Smith; grandnephew Ezra Harrington; sister-in-law Gwendolyn (Botardo) Stanulis; brothers-in-law Jerome Botardo and Paul Stanulis.
