Shirley Jean Mackey, 71, of Rochester, passed away February 4, 2017. Beloved mother of Denice (Steven) Schomer and David Destross. Loving grandmother of Douglas, Brandon, and Julia Schomer. Dear daughter of Elise Priem. Caring sister of Christine Trittschler (George) and Kathryn Van Torre (George). Shirley is survived by her former husband William Destross (Diane). She was predeceased by her father Morris and brother Edward Priem.Shirley was born to Morris and Elise Priem on May 4, 1945. She graduated from South Lake High School in St. Clair Shores. Shirley earned her associates degree and worked as a legal secretary. She went on to be office manager at the law firm of Shefferly and Silverman. The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Thursday from 2pm until the time of the memorial service at 4pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester.
