Theresa Mary Sage

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John Sage; dear children Marianne (Cary) Downer, Nicholas (Janet) Sage, and Jonathan Sage; beloved grandchildren Zachary (Kathryn) Downer, Christopher Downer, Aidan Sage, Addison Sage and Avery Sage. She was preceded in death by dear son, Peter Sage.

Theresa was born on October 2, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Renye) Laarkamp. She married John Sage in Philadelphia and they later moved to Michigan to raise their family. She served as a Religious Education Coordinator at St. Basil’s Catholic Church and retired from Regina High School following many years as the attendance secretary. For the past several years, Theresa volunteered at the O.P.C. Senior Center Gift Shop in Rochester. She was an avid knitter and especially enjoyed knitting baby sweaters, hats and blankets which she would donate to local charities. Theresa enjoyed reading, cooking and spending time with her family.

In honor of Theresa’s wishes, public services will not be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OPC Senior Center at opcseniorcenter.org/donate.
