

Lange, Walter Allan, age 85 of Rochester, MI died October 15, 2012. A longtime resident of the community Walter was a fixture at Pixley Funeral Home for nearly 30 years. He was well known for his beautiful landscaping work and the incredible Pink Impatiens and long stemmed Tulips he was able to grow year after year on the grounds of the funeral home. He was also well known in the many local restaurants and coffee shops as a regular customer that always had an opinion he was willing to share. Prior to moving back to the area Walter, known to his family as Allan, made his living as a truck driver delivering lumber and building supplies for many years in Phoenix. He served in the Merchant Marines and the US Army in WWII and was a true Patriot. Allan (Walter) was preceeded in death by his loving wife Noreen in 2000 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his four children, Dennis (Cheryl) of Madison Heights, MI; Carmen (Jim) Brooks of Knightstown, IN; Wayne of Rochester, MI and Marcia (Dan) Delaney of Pinckney, MI. He is the grandfather of David Baker, Beth Patrick, Marti Jett, Kelly Strong and Eric Delaney and the great grandfather of Mark and Aaron Patrick. He is the brother of Gerald (Arlynn) of Birmingham, MI and Ronald (Nancy) of Ortonville. Funeral service is scheduled for Friday October 19, 2012 - 2 O’clock PM at Pixley Funeral Home. 322 W. University Drive Rochester, MI. Visitation will be Thursday October 18, 2012 from 5–8 PM at the funeral home.
