

Belanger, Wilfred E. “Bill”, age 86, died August 14, 2014 at his home in Rochester, Michigan. He was born and raised in Lowell, MA where he graduated from Lowell Technological Institute as a textile chemist. After serving in the U.S. army in the occupation of Japan, he married his loving wife, Jacqueline T. Foisy. Bill is survived by his 4 children Jeanne (Bruno) de Sainte Marie of Paris, France, Stephen (Miriam) Belanger of Holland, OH, Carol (Michael) Hillman of San Francisco, CA, and Edward (Karla) Belanger of Rochester, MI; and 9 loving grandchildren.
After 17 years as a styling engineer at Chrysler Corp, he founded Fabricated Materials Corp as a manufacturer’s rep for automotive supplies from which he retired in 1993. Bill was enthusiastic about his work, hobbies, family life, travels and most importantly GOLF. He was a founding and current member of Brookwood Golf Course in Rochester and Rio Verde Country Club, Arizona. Bill was known for a superb short game and was lucky enough to have had 6 holes in one. He was an avid reader, wood and furniture craftsman, engineer/mechanic, and tennis player. He loved lively intellectual discussions and often challenged his friends and family with good natured and humorous quips. He is also survived by his sisters Thelma Stowell of VA and Doris Coughlin of NV and his late sister Theresa LaRose of MA.
Visitation- Thursday, August 21, from 4 to 8 pm, Remembrances - 7 to 8pm at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr. Rochester, MI
Funeral Mass- Friday, August 22, 10:00am, St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood Rochester, MI
