Bill was born on February 19, 1950, in Pontiac, Michigan the son of William and Dorothy (Palermo) Harden. Bill graduated from Avondale High School, class of 1968 and volunteered to serve his country in the Vietnam War. Bill married Charlene Vickers on March 11, 1972, at the Church of the Nazarene in Rochester, Michigan. Bill and Charlene raised their family in Rochester Hills. Bill had a career with General Motors first at Fisher Body in Pontiac and then retiring in 2006 from the Lake Orion Assembly Plant.
Bill loved his family. He was a loyal and private man. He enjoyed working in the yard. Bill also loved sitting in his garage next to his 1971 Pontiac LeMans drinking a cold beer and listening to the Tigers.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Charlene Harden; son Chris (Lesley Colling) Harden; grandchildren Alyssa and Riley Harden; sister Becky and Sister-in-law Bonnie Lynn Vickers. Bill was predeceased by his parents and sister Mary Comstock.
Bill’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Tuesday June 10, 2025, from 4-8pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 University Drive, in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 11, 2025, at noon at Pixley Funeral Home. Interment will be 2pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, located at 4200 Belford Road, in Holly, Michigan.
