

David York Divers, of Rochester, New York, was born in Middlesex, England on April 10th, 1957. David was predeceased by his parents, Hugo and Lottie Divers.
A Time for Eternal Rest…
David passed unexpectedly and entered into eternal life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
A time for Every Purpose Under the Heaven…
David was educated in the public schools of New York City Board of Education and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York. David was employed as a Facility Manager at the Diocese of Rochester. He retired from there after twenty-three years of faithful service.
“Dedicated to Charity Truth & Loving Kindness”, David was a proud & ardent member of the Upstate Umpire Association where he got his start, New York State Baseball Umpires Assn. Inc. (NYSBUA) and United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA). From 2000-2012, annually he loved fellowshipping with other umpires and baseball players at Cooperstown Dreams Park. In addition, David was a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials, Inc. (IAABO)-Board 60. David was a board member and devoted volunteer for St. Monica’s CYO Basketball Program. He was affectionately known as Coach Divers because he stepped up to the plate when needed. David was a youth sports enthusiast in his community. David was a life coach. He was also involved with Progressive Neighborhood Credit Union as a board member.
A Time to Love…
In 1981 David was united in Holy matrimony to the love of his life, Tami Divers. Their union of love was blessed with the births of three loving and beautiful children David Jr., Tiera and Isaiah. Throughout their forty-two years of marriage, they had the opportunity to travel and enjoy each other’s company.
A Time of Memories…
Those who will forever cherish fond and precious memories of David, his loving and caring wife and best friend Tami, his loving children, son David Jr., daughter Tiera and son Isaiah. His loving and caring grandsons Kamai Divers, Micah Anderson, Londyn Bradberry (predeceased), Ethan Bradberry, Elijah Divers, Cairo Divers and Isaiah Divers Jr. His two brothers, Hugo (Sebrina-predeceased) and Steven. His three sisters Linda, Sharon (Mason) and Catherine. His two brothers in laws Richard aka Ricky (predeceased) and Darin. Also, his adoring nieces Shaquana (AJ) and Nicole. In addition, his nephews that looked up to him for guidance, Tre, Darin Jr., KJ, Monte and Christian. David was also loved by his ten Great-Nieces and seven Great-Nephews. A host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
A viewing for David will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Monica Church, 831 Genesee St., Rochester, NY 14611, followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 PM.
