Elizabeth J. Ewald

Elizabeth “Betty” Ewald (Lasher) died August 25, 2011 at age 87. Predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, William. Survived by her sons, Douglas of CO, Philip (Beverly) of Webster, Leonard (Carolyn) of CO, and Robert (Stacey) of NJ; grandchildren, Jane and William; sisters, Gertrude Hawley and Alma Fick; and many devoted friends. Betty received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Rochester. Many decades of community service in Webster include Betty having been President of the Council of Churches; President of the PTSA; and a founding member of the United Church of Christ on Klem Road. In 1980 the Webster Board of Education bestowed on her its first ever award given to a resident of the community to “recognize the effort and outstanding service given for the betterment of the public and school system.” Betty had a life-long devotion to family, church, education and peace. The family is exceedingly grateful for the dedicated, loving care given to Betty by “Health Care at Its Finest”, especially Michelle, Lisa, Elena, Paula and Heather. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Christ, 570 Klem Rd., Webster, NY 14580 or a charity of your choice.
