Jeanne Jan Ann Wendel

Jeanne Ann “Jan” Wendel passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital on December 1, 2010 at age 72, after a long, courageous bout with Parkinson’s disease. Jan is survived by her mother, Pauline Holland; her husband, Chuck Wendel; her sons, Chris (Darcy) Wendel and Todd Wendel; her sisters, Sue Kievit and Michelle Cohan; her granddaughter, Madison Wendel; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Jan had lived most of her life rotating between Pittsford, NY and Martha’s Vineyard, MA. She was a loving daughter, sister, spouse, mother and friend who always thought of others before herself. Outnumbered from the beginning, (4 males including a dog to 1 female) and with the patience of a saint, Jan took on the unenviable task of culturing and nurturing these four males. Her family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the compassionate staff at Strong who really made a difference in Jan’s final days.

There will be a celebration of Jan’s life at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, NY on Saturday December 4th, from 11 AM to 1 PM.
