

He is survived by his daughters Ann (Mark) Bailey, Judy Hartman, Susan (Bram) Hartman, and Kathleen (Rick) Stilwell; as well as six cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Margaret, John Dylan, Rosella, Julia, and Anna. John is also survived by his siblings Joanne O'Neill, Bernie Hartman, and Thomas Hartman, along with many nieces, nephews, and their children.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carol K. Hartman, his parents, Milton and Rosella, and his siblings Barbara Hartman, Michael Hartman, and David Hartman.
John was born in 1943 in Rochester, NY. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. He began his career at Kodak in Rochester, NY, where he met his beloved wife Carol. After moving to Apalachin, NY, in 1980, John founded JH Robotics, Inc., starting the company in his garage and eventually relocating it to Johnson City, NY.
John was known for his vibrant personality, generosity, and sense of humor, but his greatest joy was being a grandfather. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Pius X, 3010 Chili Ave, Rochester, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in John's honor to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
