Makayla Lynn Spite

July 23, 2008- January 26, 2014

Makayla Spite was an angel on earth. Before she was born, she was given only a week to a year to live. We were blessed by her presence in our lives for five and a half wonderful years, and she exceeded the expectations her conditions placed on her.

The first five months of her life were spent at the NICU in Strong, and the last five years of her life was an emotional roller coaster as she dealt with a myriad of health issues. Despite all the setbacks in her life, she approached life with a smile and touched hundreds of people with her spirit. Whenever she went to a doctor’s appointment, shopping, to church, or out in the community she smiled at everyone around her until they couldn’t help but smile back. She used to love going to Strong to see her favorite doctors and nurses.

Sunday was always her favorite day of the week, and she loved going to church with her family. It was fitting that on a Sunday afternoon she was whisked home to heaven for her final church service.

She was loved by all and will be missed by her parents, Matthew and Mary, her siblings--William, Emma, and David--and all the family and friends that were touched by her life.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 1 at 1:30 pm at New Life Assembly, 64 Calkins Rd, Rochester, NY 14623.
