Marion was born to Carl and Amelia Sponholz, on January 25, 1931. Marion is predeceased by her parents, her loving husbands Kenneth Frantz of 52 years, and Hadwen Hinman of 16 years, her brothers Carl, Albert, and sisters Adeline, Helen, Louise, Anna Marie, and her son Kevin Frantz. She is survived by her loving daughters Rhonda (Richard) Klaiber, Ranea Kos, and daughter in law Jeanne Frantz; grandchildren Rick (Janice) Klaiber, Rob (Melissa) Klaiber, Rachel (Ardean) Klaiber-Christian, Sarah (Brian) Tobey, Brian (Cora) Kos, Chris Frantz, and Keith (Lianna) Frantz. She is also survived by her many great grandchildren, great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.
Marion grew up in Orchard Park, NY in a home filled with laughter, love and music. Her and her sister Louise, ages 14 & 16, began playing their own guitars together for square dances and local events in the town. It was on a blind date arranged by Louise that she met and later married the love of her life Ken. They built a home on his family farm in the Boston Hills.
In the years that followed, while raising their children, Rhonda, Kevin and Ranea, she was an active member of St. Martins Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, sang choir, was involved in Ladies Aid and worked at the church suppers and events. She was truly an integral part of the Lord's work at the church and around the community.
She loved hosting family and friends over in the screened garage where multiple tables were set up for a variety of card games. Euchre was the favorite. A close second was Poker. She so enjoyed a good card game of any kind and was a fierce competitor who wanted to win!
Music was never far away. With an upright piano in the family room in the basement, many a jam session would be enjoyed with one of many family members or friends tickling the ivories, playing fiddle, guitar, accordion or harmonica. If you didn't play, you danced. If you didn't dance, you sang. If you couldn't sing, you tapped your feet and drank a beer.
During the summers and throughout the years she thoroughly enjoyed visits from her daughters, son and grandchildren. It might be out in the yard to enjoy the beautiful view while listening to the birds, tending to her flowerbed, watching the kids bale hay, or simply gazing at the stars. It made wonderful memories for all.
Marion loved to camp and travel and did so extensively with Ken. They drove across the country with many adventures. They also visited Mexico and Alaska.
They retired in Florida in 1998 and became snowbirds. Ken passed in 2001 and she stayed in FL. A year later she was lucky enough to meet another great man named Hadwen Hinman. This kind and wonderful man asked for her hand in marriage in 2003 where they bounced back and forth between Mexico, NY and FL. They shared a love of playing cards, Bingo was a favorite and many outdoor concerts. They both loved the warmth of the sun. Sadly Hadwen passed away in 2019, where she solely remained in FL until a few years later she came back up north to live between her two daughters. Marion loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren where she will be greatly missed by all.
