

Rochester: Age 101, died peacefully in her sleep at the Highlands At Brighton on January 9, 2016. She was born in her family home in Rochester to Albert and Ethel (Wilson) Bricker in August of 1914, where she resided for nearly 98 years.
Following high school, Mary attended business school, and in her late 70s took a college computer course to gain an understanding of the new and intriguing technology. Mary retired at the age of 85 working as office manager at William Eastwood & Son Company.
Being born to family of prominently known local entertainers, Mary was introduced to the arts of acting and music at an early age. She played piano, and was a gifted singer with a concentration in opera, and actively sang in high school performances and weddings. One of Mary’s greatest joys was praising the Lord with song in church choir, which she continued into her 90s.
Survived by granddaughter, Marla (Rick Mincin) Britton, as well as great-grandchildren, an honorary grandson Dr. James Wood, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of long-time and caring friends. Mary was the wife of the late Arthur M. Wilson. She was pre-deceased by her daughter and son-in-law Gail (Howard) of Virginia, pre-deceased by her daughter Nancy of Florida, pre-deceased by brothers and sister-in-laws, Bert (Gertrude) and Ralph (Ruth), as well as numerous friends.
Mary’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at The Highlands At Brighton not only for their loving and compassionate care throughout her stay, but for sharing fun and interesting stories about her activities. Her family is also thankful for the continued love and support given Mary by her dear friends. May God bless everyone whose life she touched.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 14th, from 4PM-7PM at the Funeral Home of ALVAH HALLORAN & SON, 2125 Chili Avenue, Gates. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15th, at 12:00 NOON at Genesee Baptist Church, 149 Brooks Avenue, Rochester. Interment at White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Genesee Baptist Church.
