Mike was born on October 18, 1951 in Rochester, New York to Everett and Helen Marshall. He graduated from Aquinas Institute in 1970 and attended Monroe Community College, graduating in 1972 with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Police Science.
In 1974 he went to work for the Monroe County Sheriff's Department until being hired by the Virginia Beach Police Department in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1976. He retired from that Department in 2006 and moved to Dunedin, Florida where he lived until his death.
Michael is survived by his sister, Patricia Vitale, and her husband, Terry Vitale, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is also survived by his niece, Danielle Vitale Rodzevik, her husband, John Rodzevik, and their sons, Camden and Leo, of Greenville, South Carolina, as well as several cousins and many dear friends.
Michael will be laid to rest alongside his parents on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00am in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Gates, New York.
