With profound sadness, we announce that Nancy J. (McMaster) Sprague, 75, of Englewood, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, in Rochester, New York, surrounded by family, after a courageous 6½-year battle with cancer.
Born on October 10, 1949, in Bath, New York, to Eugene and Clara McMaster, Nancy was a continual source of love, laughter, and resilience. She retired from Avnet after a 27-year career leading award-winning sales teams with unmatched dedication and heart.
Nancy was a true “momma bear” who fiercely cared for everyone around her. She was the glue of every gathering—organizing trips, booking reservations, and making sure every detail was just right. If something needed to get done, Nancy made it happen.
She is survived by her devoted husband and partner in all things, Neil Sprague, who stood by her side every step of the way. She is also survived by her siblings: Stephen McMaster (Denise), Eugene McMaster (Julie), Cathy Martens, Timothy McMaster (Jennifer), Yvonne Wolf (Brian), and Michelle Quigley (Sean); her children: Cory Toor (Lori) and Cherie Hallinan (Bill); her stepchildren, Jenny Keller (Mike) and Jeremy Sprague (Cindy); and her beloved grandchildren: Cody (Katie) and Patrick Toor, Connor and Callie Hallinan, Laura and Lillian Keller, and Haden and Megan Sprague.
Nancy also lovingly “adopted” Tara (Pat) Smith and their children, Ryan and Ethan, into her circle of family—because love to Nancy knew no bounds.
She cherished her communities in both Englewood, Florida and Warsaw, New York, creating lifelong friendships, sharing countless dinners, and never missing a good sunset at Englewood Beach. Her summers at Silver Lake and camping trips to Dream Lake were filled with joy, laughter, and loved the warmth of family.
Nancy’s beaming smile, quick wit, and sassy spirit lit up every room. Her love for the great "McMaster Clan" was unwavering, and her adventurous heart led her to travel the world with Neil and savor every moment spent with friends and family.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the incredible care teams at Moffitt Cancer Center, Wilmot Cancer Center, Warsaw Ambulance, Wyoming EMS, Mercy Flight Western, UR Neuro Critical Care, and UR Palliative Care.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation – a cause close to her generous heart.
