I worked with Bill in US Airways dispatch for many years. He was one of the first people I met when I came in for my interview, and I remember the nice conversation we had. After that, over the years, we had many nice conversations and it was always a pleasure. He was a good, kind person and a very professional and knowledgeable flight dispatcher. I always liked working with Bill. Pat and the rest of the family have my deepest and most sincere sympathy.

Though we have "scattered to the winds," airline family is just that, "family."  We will always remember our times together in upstate NY, whether running around your terrific back yard with the giant birch trees, enjoying the potluck cookouts, or playing dress up (well, the girls, that is). Pat, I just learned of Bills passing. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Lots of memories working at Mohawk. Also the good times we had at the Mohawk reunions. Again my sincere sympathy.

"Uncle Bill" will be missed!  This man was an Uncle, a mentor and a friend. Aunt Pat and Uncle Bill lived next door to us for many years in Rome NY, and I have so many wonderful memories of the Walsh family.  Bill never failed to keep in touch over the years and stay close.  When I married my wife (Ann) we grew even closer to Pat and Bill. They were the couple that we always hoped we could aspire to in our marriage. The Walsh's always had a spot at their table for dinner, and a scotch or beer before and after!  Our memories are filled with the warmth and unconditional love of Bill.  Our hearts go out to Aunt Pat, the girls, their spouses, children and extended family.  No doubt my dad (Bob) and Bill are tapping a fresh keg and planning a garden as we write these words.  Until we meet again.........

I remember our big Walsh family reunions in Kansas, and Bill usually had a smile on his face, recounting some funny story from his many adventures! When I was a young girl, I was always fascinated at all of the amazing places that Bill and Pat traveled to, around the world, and it profoundly influenced my own wanderlust...including my choosing an airline/travel career.  There are a lifetime of memories of Bill that we all have, and I know that each time one comes to mind, it will bring him right back to us in our hearts. My deepest sympathies to Pat and Family...I am so sorry for your loss. Bill was a larger than life presence in our lives, and he will be missed.

The National World War II Glider Pilots Association, Inc. extends the most heartfelt condolences to Bill's family.  As a relatively new Troop Carrier member of our Association, Bill volunteered and served as a member of our Executive Committee.  As each takes his last flight, our ranks become thinner, but our eternal bonds with each become stronger.
