

RACCOON TOWNSHIP
Allen Stephen Nadzam, Sr., 77 of Raccoon Township, passed on Saturday, July 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of the staff of Beaver Meadows and St. Barnabas Hospice.
He was born January 18, 1940 in West Aliquippa, son of the late John and Eleanor (Kozar) Nadzam. Known as Al by family and friends, he was a retired locomotive engineer with the Norfolk Southern Railway. Al’s career spanned 45 years beginning with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn-Central, Conrail and Norfolk-Southern. He was happiest at work simply riding the rail. His other interests included jogging, gardening and landscaping, caring for animals, cooking and entertaining family and friends at his home and keeping his eye on the stock market. Al loved his family and was proud of each and every one of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a brother: Ramon Nadzam; a sister: Lilyan Stevens; and a son-in-law: Donald “Don” Blanchard in 2011.
He is survived by six children and spouses: Allen “Butch” (Cheryl) Nadzam, Jr., Barnesville, GA; Jo Ann (William) Domitrovich, Enon Valley; Mark (Renee) Nadzam, Lower Burrell; Nancy Blanchard, Enon Valley; Karin Nadzam, Enon Valley; and Mandy (Mathew) Burket, Raccoon Township; eleven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with one on the way; four brothers and sisters-in-law: John (Mary) Nadzam; Norman Nadzam; Joel (Suzan) Nadzam; Clint Nadzam; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Lenore (Ken) Walaschek; Leslie (Paul) May and Lois Nadzam.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A blessing service will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
In honor of his wishes, cremation will follow his visitation and service.
