Anne R. Valecic Grimm

Anne R. Valecic Vandeck Grimm, 93, of Vanport, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Clairton, PA. She was born July 17, 1917 in Aliquippa, daughter of the late John and Barbara (Istavanich) Valecic. Anne was a graduate of New Brighton High School. Anne lived in New Brighton for 52 years and 35 years in the VanBuren Homes, Vanport. She retired from Mayer China in 1980 after 38 years of service.

She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and baking. Family and friends will always remember her delicious holiday cookies. Anne was a member of SS Peter and Paul Parish, Beaver and a member of the Marian Guild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband: Stephen Vandeck and her second husband: Everett Grimm; two brothers: George and Bernard “Bronko” Valecic; and her sister: Catherine Valecic.

She is survived by her son: James Vandeck and his fiancée Veronica “Ronni” Hoffmeyer, Whitehall, PA; two grandchildren: John Vandeck and Beth Vandeck; two great grandchildren: Ethan Vandeck and Bailey Vandeck; and her former daughter-in-law: Dolores Vandeck, all of Maryland.

Friends will be received Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 3 to 8 p.m., in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 200 Third Street, Beaver. The public is kindly asked to go directly to the church on Thursday morning.

Private entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to the SS Peter and Paul School Educational Fund. On line condolences may be offered at www.saul-gabauer.com.
