She was born and raised in New Castle, PA, daughter of late Carl & Ruth Leasure. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed the quiet and simple life. Dorothy like to be outdoors in the garden or mowing her lawn and at times could be heard signing songs from the 70's. In earlier years she worked at Hills Department Store and was a member of a Bowling league in Conway. Dorothy was a avid Steelers fan, watching the games and paying close attention to the discussions on KDKA 97 Fan Talk.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was proceeded in death by her husband, John D Carter, Sr in 2006, and her infant son, Thomas Carter in 1977.
Dorothy is survived by her son, John D Carter, Jr, New Brighton, his fiancée, Elizabeth Pertle of Chicago, her daughter and son-in-law, Cyndi & Chelsy Cross of Seattle, WA; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jack Leasure, New Castle, PA, and Tom & Carol Leasure, CA, and two sisters, May Lennon, Pine Bush, NY & Ester Sholey of Edinburgh, PA.
