

Dorothy M. Zahn, 99, of Rochester went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 while under the compassionate care of the staff at the Rochester Villa and Mother Theresa Hospice. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 3, 1911 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to the late Walter L. Sr. and Birdie E. Mueller. The oldest of eleven children, she loved her siblings very much as well as her immediate family. Dorothy was a 1930 graduate of Rochester High School and had worked different jobs including housekeeper, seamstress and on the railroad as a welder. A former member of the First U.P. Church of Rochester, Dorothy served faithfully for 49 years as the financial secretary, retiring in December 2002. She also was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and the Doer's Class. Upon the closing of her former church, she joined the Bridgewater First United Presbyterian Church where she was loved and cared for as a shut-in by the congregation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, LeeRoy Zahn, five sisters, Helen in infancy, Anna Mae Kather, Myrtle Costa, Mabel Baker, Mary Lou Hall, three brothers, Walter "Bud" Mueller, Clyde Mueller and Robert Mueller. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Raymond Druschel of Beaver, two grandsons and spouses, Michael and Hope Druschel and Robert and Julie Druschel and a great grandson, Tyler Druschel. She is also survived by two sisters, Edna Emrick of New Brighton and Vivienne Nicely of Vanport, a sister-in-law, Helen Mueller of Beaver and many special nieces and nephews as well as a dear friend, Viola Tack. Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, Inc, 273 Rt. 68, Rochester, Pa 15074 (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William H. Silver, officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
